Structure

BCA is an independent organization that works with more than 100 colleges and universities in the U.S. BCA participants are students, faculty or administrators from these institutions.  BCA's founding consortium is a group of seven institutions with historic ties to the Church of the Brethren.

History

BCA was launched in 1962 with a single program in Marburg, Germany: Students traveled by boat for a 10-day journey just to get there! Since this start almost 50 years ago, BCA now offers more than a dozen programs and serves hundreds of students each year. While our services and offerings have been enriched over the years, BCA's commitment to its founding values of peace and justice has remained and continues to be an integral part of all our programs.
