Jeremy Ebersole, Elizabethtown College,
Sydney, Australia 2003

Unfortunately, my Australia trip was about 6 years before I got a digital camera, so all the photos are still happily print only. However, it would be impossible to overestimate the impact studying abroad has had on my life. From my initial school trip to Ecuador followed by my study abroad semester as part of BCA's inaugural Australia cohort in 2003, I have since been all over the world, recently returning from two years spent backpacking, volunteering, and working in Germany, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Ecuador (with a nonprofit run by a former BCA employee), Israel, and New Zealand. None of this would have happened without Australia. And to BCA I am forever grateful for helping instill in me a passion for international travel. Finally, to prove that you can stay friends with people from afar, just last fall (eight years after studying abroad together) I attended the wedding of a Californian friend I met over in Australia! Joy!
