Ryan Radebaugh, Bluffton University,
Xalapa, Mexico 2006

When I first returned to NW Ohio, my home, it felt different. It felt as if I was also in a foreign place with familiar people. The place did not change. I did. I changed because of the wonderful opportunities BCA Xalapa provided me. Rob is an excellent facilitator, director, friend, and leader.

I returned to Bluffton, I summed up the experience to being similar to a metamorphosis. A complete change on who I am. I was wrong. Although this experience was definitely a life changing event, it only added additional, very important, layers to the worldview of Ryan Radebaugh. BCA Xalapa, helped to lay the foundation for transitioning from experiencing life as an farm-boy, allergic to everything his family grows, to a farm-boy who has seen, traveled, experienced, and grown. BCA Xalapa laid the foundation for developing as a global citizen.

I could write a book on my memories. I still reflect with joy that I was able to have all of these experiences and get credit for it, it was by far my best decision I made in my college years.

I sincerely miss the other 2006ers. This experience would not have been as fulfilling without the wonderful group that we had.

All in all, this study abroad experience was enlightening, life-changing, and fulfilling academically, personally, and socially.

Paz,
Ryan
