Phil is a BCA Athens alumnus (2006) and a graduate of Colorado Christian University with a BS in Communication. He has traveled in Mexico, Greece-mainland and islands, Canada, Hungary, Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland and Germany. He's been with BCA since 2010 helping students with all aspects of enrollment including post-enrollment and visas. He also coordinates the Alumni Ambassador program and assists with university relations activities. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his wife, sustainable gardening (indoor and outdoor), community supported agriculture, snowboarding, Frisbee, longboarding, biking and backpacking.

Joanna Eros

Joanna is the mother of four adult children and grandmother of three.  While raising her children—two of whom studied abroad while in college—her family hosted students from Costa Rica and Czech Republic. In addition to raising a family, Joanna has worked on a family farm, as office manager for a real estate firm, and in membership and education departments for numerous not-for-profit organizations. She has been at BCA Study Abroad since 2009. Her responsibilities include: maintaining databases and the BCA online application system; managing student transcripts; developing and distributing pre-departure handbooks; processing student documents; creating student data, enrollment, evaluation, and other reports; and various other office responsibilities.

Joanna is passionate about nature, reading, hiking, bird watching, music, nutrition, human rights, and her family. Travels outside the U.S. include trips to England, Greece, Tortola (BVI) and numerous journeys to Mexico. Her favorite destination is Glacier National Park in Montana. She has an associate’s degree in information systems and, as time allows, likes to enroll in creative writing courses.

On board with BCA since 2007, Julie has 16 years experience within higher education in the departments of communications and college relations at Washington State University, Guilford College and Salem Academy and College. Prior to emarking on a career in higher education, she worked in magazine and book editing/publishing, as well as in an advertising/marketing. In her role at BCA, Julie produces the promotional publications; maintains and creates content for the website; produces and manages events and public relations activities; produces and manages advertising placements; directs institutional relations activities including campus visits and study abroad fairs; manages conference attendance and promotions; works with students and study abroad advisors; and oversees the marketing budget. She traveled extensively throughout Europe as a violist in the American Music Abroad program before entering Penn State University where she earned a BA in English. Julie lives in Elizabethtown with her husband and three boys.
