Student Name: Matthew Gore, Marywood University, Fall 2009
Location of picture: Hiraoka-Chuo elementary school
Description: This picture was taken at the end of the BCA visit to our first elementary school.  In the picture are BCA students Jason Elliott, Sylvia Sogabe, Stephanie Kelly, and myself.  This was the class we spent our afternoon with for two different visits (we went to this elementary school two times)  and had a great time getting to talk and play with the kids.  They even played flutes for us and showed us songs and dances they used to learn English numbers.  At the end we had to get a picture with each other because it was such a great time!

 Activities

Student Name: David Foran
Description: In Japan, we took a trip around Honshu, which is the largest of several islands that make up Japan.  We visited many interesting places in famous cities like Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Osaka. We learned about the different, historical, religious and cultural aspects of these cities.  One of my favorite places that we visited was a huge shrine on the side of a mountain.  It had 10,000 of these Torii (Orange Gates) going up and down it.  It was a really wonderful experience.
