Spring 2011

January 2: fly to The Gambia

January 4: Orientation begins

      • Receive BCA orientation
      • Participate in University orientation activities as appropriate
      • Register at the UTG
      • Visit potential sites for service placements (Engineering students separate from social sciences/humanities students)
      • Basic Mandinka lessons

January 11: courses begin

June 10: courses end

June 11: Engineering students stay for construction phase. Other students may stay for optional research/service projects; otherwise return home June 12

July 1: Optional program ends for Engineering students

Fall 2011

August 12 or13: Leave for The Gambia
August 15- 21: Orientation week as above
August 22: Courses begin
December 16: Semester ends
December 18: Return to the USA
December 17-Jan 6:  Optional Engineering or research projects
January 8:  Return to the USA (optional program students)
